Clark County Department of Aviation
Darren Daniels has worked for Clark County since 2013 and joined the Department of Aviation in 2017 as Assistant Director of Aviation, Facilities and Service Desk, overseeing all Facilities and Service Desk functions for McCarran International Airport and the County’s four general aviation airports.
Prior to joining the Department of Aviation team, Daniels served as Operations Manager for Clark County’s Department of Real Property Management, where he managed a $35 million operating budget dedicated to maintenance, repair, upgrade and construction for more than 500 facilities and 125 parks, including the Clark County Detention Center and North Valley Complex, the Regional Justice Center, and more than 6,000 acres of county parks, trails and equestrian facilities. Prior to joining Clark County, Daniels served a 27-year career with the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Colonel after holding command positions at the Major Command, Group and Squadron levels. In these positions, he led installationwide support functions ranging from communications, personnel/human resources, security/law enforcement, fire/emergency services, transportation/vehicle maintenance, and facility operations/engineering/construction. He has been actively involved in building operations and infrastructure programs for more than 35 years, launching creative solutions and deploying new technologies in facility management while controlling financial resources.
Daniels earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University. He also holds master’s degrees in Military Art and Science and Strategic Studies from Maxwell Air Force Base’s Air Command and Staff College and Air War College, respectively.
